| SBL ROOKIE-SOPH CHALLENGE AUG 2, 2003 MIDDLESEX COUNTY JAIL player/coaches rookies- kip corbett sophs- rando knight ROOKIES 5 SOPHOMORES 26 the rookies looked like, well, rookies. they couldn't shoot or play defense, and they lacked leadership. they nearly got booed off the court. perhaps it was the coaching... the sophomores, conversly, looked solid out of the gate. they hit well, defended properly, behaved properly, and were in control of the game throughout. definately not the coaching. we'll be leaving out many of the gory details to help the rookies go on with their lives, but by the time the virgins had their second runner reach base, they were already 14 runs down. danielle hennon of gonads & strife and pat lackey of the weenise strike back supplied a good chunk of the "O" for their squad, each going 4 of 7. lackey had 2 rbi, while hennon contributed one. matt mcclelland (miracles) had 2 dp's in the losing cause. also on the rook roster were dennis lackey (0 for 5, 1 dumb thing) as well as player coach kippy (1 for 2, 1 dumb thing). the sophomores were carried by andy esenwein's 9 for 11, 2 homer, 11 rbi, 1 dp, 1 assistperformance , as well as lee nespor's 4 homer, 7 rbi, 1 psyche-out line. both nespor and esenwein play for gonads & strife. jason biddle of vice city hit 7 of his 11 shots for 3 runs batted in, and elysa farrell (heartbreakers) remained red-hot, going 6 for 6 with 3 rbi. weenis mike moroco hit on 4 of 5 shots with 2 rbi. after the game, winning coach rando knight celebrated with some beer. he was joined in celenebreation by losing coach kip corbett.
