SHARON captain: nate tomko, the laser cats the eight time all-star player and captain broke his own record for long balls this season with 65, and finished atop the sbl in rbi (165), and batting average (.673). in addition, he was second in the league with 19 psyche-outs and earned his seventh player of the year nomination. aryn christman, the queens of the rest stop reacharound making her third straight appearance as an all-star, aryn finished with 75 runs batted, one off her career mark, and a personal-best 2 assists. in addition, aryn held down the 8th best batting average in the league, .596. terry shernisky, the laser cats the league leader in assists (10) and double plays (84) makes his fourth straight all-star contest. in additon to sherry's defensive numbers, he also knocked in 35 homers and drove in 119 runs, both good for third in the sbl, all while carrying a .633 batting average. billy weisberg, voltron making his eighth consecutive all-star appearance, tied for top in all of baseketball, weisberg continued to be a force on both sides of the ball this season. he drilled a personal best 12 homers and drove in drove in a personal best 77 rbi, hit .500 for the second straight season, and was third in the league with 5 assists. terry hall, the oatcake hate monsters the former kid who only hit homers makes his second all-star appearance after another phenomenal season. hall brought up all of his offensive numbers from a season ago, finishing with a personal best 29 homers and 94 runs batted in. also, hall tipped in 42 double plays, fifth in the league. katie kelly, the oatcake hate monsters after earning her spot in the week 13 classic last season only to be forced out of the game to prior commitments this year, katie will hopefully be making her first all-star game in 2008. she finished right in line with her career numbers, hitting 3 homers, batting well over .600, driving home 68 and tipping in a pair of assists. |
THE WORLD mike moroco, the kyoto kamikazees the six-time sbl all-star and former game most valubale player makes his first venture into captaining thanks in large part to his sbl record 25 psyche-outs. he finished second in the league in homers (40, a career high) and fourth in the league with 99 rbi, also a personal best. excluding his .520 average, mike finished no lower than fifth in any stategory. bryan frankovich, the queens of the rsr a two time all-star captain and game m.v.p., bryan continued to be one of the most consistent players in the league this season, even topping his personal mark with 131 runs batted in. b.frank reached the top five in every single category except batting average, in which he still finished above the .500 mark for the 6th time in his 6-year career. bob spohn, the laser cats in only his second year in the league, spohhny makes his first all-star appearance thanks to putting up personal best in homers (11), average (.450) and runs batted in (83), the latter of which had him at 7th in the sbl. bob is the favorite to win the sbl most improved player award. stud frankovich, the queens of the rsr another all-star virgin, and some might argue virgin of another kind, stud frankovich came from oblivion to come a prime time player in the sbl. stud put up personal best across the board, finishing with 32 homers, 89 rbi, a .612 average and 23 double plays. he was a finalist for sbl most improved player, and until the final weeks of the season, for player of the year. matt mcclelland, the oatcake hate monsters mcclelland in making his sixth sbl all-star game in as many tries this summer, keeping right on pace with his career numbers. though he played in a cerrer-low 18 games, mac still was the most consistent offensive player on his team. gavin st. john, voltron like spohn, gavin st. john will be making his first all-star appearance this season, imrpving on his rookie of the year campaign of 2007 with 19 homers, 60 rbi and 21 double plays, all while batting nearly .500. |
