MILF HUNTERS 10 NAACP 12 the naacp rebounded from a terrible preliminary round game, a one-run squeaker over bottom seeded team crackalakalakan, to pull off a mild upset over the seventh seeded milf hunters. paced by solid shooting from all 3 members of their team and a dominating defensive performance from jon olsavsky and aided by the pregame dissapearance of milf hunter superstar steve mentrek, the association rallied from a 3 run defecit to win the game in their final at-bat. the milf hunters were able to put 2 on the board in the first when mark tarkanick drove in kip corbett with a no-out homerun. olsavsky stifled the rally at the next batter with his double play of a jason betts miss, and sam lynn's double was off target for out number 3. however, a 3-up, 3-down bottom of the inning had the naacp in a 2-0 hole after one. following kip corbett's second triple in as many at-bats, olsavsky collected a psyche-out/double play combo on tarkanick's single attempt. betts missed his second single of the young game to keep the milf hunter lead at 2. the naacp plated their first runs of the game in the bottom of the second when moroco, olsavsky and hood went back to back to back from the triple line. moroco then gave her team a one-run lead with a middle double, but that would be the end of the scoring in the inning as tarkanick registered a d.p. off of olsavsky's homer miss and jason betts coerced a psyche-out from hood for out number 3. the hunters wasted no time regaining their lead. sam lynn led off the 3rd with a double and was brought home by corbett's 3rd consecutive triple. tark plated corbett with a single, but betts continued to struggle, missing another single that was once again tipped back through by olsavsky for 2. out number three came one batter later as lynn was wide left on a triple attempt. facing a one-run defecit, the naacp got their first 2 runners on when moroco and olsavsky nailed singles, but hood was d.p.'d by corbett while attempting to load the bases. betts earned his second psyche-out of the game, this time getting his girlfriend jamie for the big third out. the hunters padded their lead in each of the next 2 innings, getting 1 in the 4th on a corbett solo homer and 2 in the 5th on back to back rbi doubles by tarkanick and betts. the naacp, while consistently putting runners in scoring position, were unable to plate a single runner in either inning. by the time olsavsky earned psyche-out number 2 as lynn led off the 6th, the naacp were in a 7-3 hole. the second and third outs of the top of the 6th came when olsavsky doubled up corbett, who had made every shot up to that point. the naacp got back on track thanks to sean hood, who cleared the loaded bases with a 2-out triple that made the count 7-6. moroco's double attempt appeared to have been put back in by hood for an assist, but after much deliberation, referee teddy ballgame ruled hood down and the hit and run were wiped from the board. the overuling lit a fire under the hunters who quickly got all three runs back when, of all people, jason betts drove in 3 on a middle homer after corbett and tark reached on a single and double, respectively. though the scoring stopped when olsavsky doubled up corbett for his 5th double play in 7 innings, the hunters had rebuilt their lead to 10-6. the naacp, perhaps still ruling from mr. ballgame's ruling, were unable to match the run total, though they managaed to drive in a lone run when an olsavsky double scored moroco. inning 8 saw no change in the score as corbett got his 3rd double play of the game and olsavsky his 6th. the hunters went into the ninth with a comfortable 4-run lead, and seemed to be padding their stats as corbett and tarkanick put up wild solo homer attempts and, at the urging of the ass clown outdoor arean crowd, betts launched a grand slam over the garage. the game was far from over, though, as the milf hunters would soon find out. moroco registered a triple to get the ball rolling, and olsavsky found his homer stroke, banking in a one of the middle variety to bring his team within one. looking to small ball to keep themselves in the game, hood stroked a right single, then moroco followed suit from the left side. though the crowd wanted another homer to win the game, veteran olsavsky stuck to the plan and banked through a middle single to load the bases with no outs. hood missed a left triple to add some excitement to the game and give the hunters hope, but moroco's second triple of the inning in the very next at-bat drove in all 3 runners and ended both the game and the hunter's life in the tournament. each memeber of the naacp registered 4 rbi. moroco hit safely in 8 of her 12 at-bats and olsavsky also contributed 2 psyche-outs and a half-dozen double plays. for the losers, betts and tarkanick led their team with a homer and 4 runs batted in. corbett hit all but 2 of his 10 shot attempts with a homer and a trio of double plays. tarkanick registered 2 d.p.'s.
