THE 2006 SHENANGAHELA BASEKETBALL LEAGUE ALL-AMERICANS sponsored by The Jolly Brewer's 90-cent PBR drafts |
FIRST TEAM Nate Tomko, live sex celebration: 22 GP, 64 HR, .640 AVG., 14 RBI, 9 AST, 125 DP, 5 PSYCHE, 0 DUMB after another outstanding campaign, tomko hoisted his second consecutive (and fourth overall) player of the year award, and now finds himself as a first-team all-american for the sixth time in as many seasons. as captain of live sex celebration, who finished as the best team in the american conference before suffering an embarassing second-round playoff loss to rivals bukkake tsunami, tomko shattered the single season marks for homers and double plays, while finishing in front of the sbl in every category except psyche-outs. Terry Shernisky, team wet dream: 17 GP, 24 HR, .625 AVG., 113 RBI, 2 AST, 52 DP, 0 PSYCHE, 4 DUMB while 2006 didn't see shernisky raise the player of the year trophy over his head as many had expected, i'm sure the second-year player will gladly take his first world championship and finals mvp award as more than a significant consolation prize. while not the captain of his squad, sherry was without a doubt the leader, and with him steering the ship wet dream was in front of the sbl from day one. this is terry's second straight first-team all american nomination. Bryan Frankovich, the frankenbitches: 22 GP, 22 HR, .564 AVG., 120 RBI, 8 AST, 113 DP, 0 PSYCHE, 7 DUMB ever so close once again, bryan finished number two in the sbl player of the year voting in spite of having his best season to date as a baseketballer. his 120 rbi, 8 assists and 113 double plays were all personal bests, and in my personal opinion, 2006 marked the year when bryan officially graduated from overchieving little buster to fully grown sbl asshole, often times taking his frankenbitches on his back en route to a fourth-place finish in the sbl regular season. this is bryan's third straight appearance on the all-american first team. Matt Mcclelland, the minori-team: 18 GP, 15 HR, .576 AVG., 70 RBI, 1 AST, 37 DP, 5 PSYCHE, 4 DUMB a perennial all-american, matt returns to the first team for the 3rd time in '06 after spending a year on the second team in 2005. without playing in two weeks worth of sbl action, matt still managed to place in the top five in the league in rbi and batting average, as well as an unlikely second in psyche-outs, while continuing to improve in the homerun area. his double play and assist numbers took a hit, but that certainly isn't a knock on him, as the big man spent more time boxing out opponents and letting high flyers bill weisberg and terry hall soak up the spotlight. Mike Moroco, cashdollar & associates: 21 GP, 29 HR, .439 AVG., 95 RBI, 1 AST, 54 DP, 4 PSYCHE, 11 DUMB moroco continued his meteoric rise up the sbl mountain in 2006, earning a first-team all american birth for the first time in his career. with career highs in homers (29, second in sbl), runs batted in (4th) and double plays (4th), moroco was much more than the role player to support jon biddle's player of the year campaign-- he nearly became player of the year himself. mike was a second-team all american in 2004, and has twice been named all-star mvp. SECOND TEAM Terry Hall, the minori-team: 14 GP, 10 HR, .486 AVG., 44 RBI, 2 AST, 30 DP, 1 PSYCHE, 5 DUMB after a career season as the third member of the minori-teams three-headed monster, terry hall earns his first appearance on an all-american squad, in spite of missing 6 games. the homer, avg., rbi and double plays numbers are all career highs for the second year player. Ben Smith, bukkake tsunami: 18 GP, 16 HR, .414 AVG., 58 RBI, 1 AST, 31 DP, 0 PSYCHE, 6 DUMB a former player of the year finalist and first-team all american, smith had a very un-ben like third season far from the homer-reigning campaigns we'd come to expect from the hairy bavarian. however, ben was the most consistent force on the outrageously inconsistent bukkake tsunami, and certainly found his stroke for one week in the playoffs and during the homerun derby. Billy Weisberg, the minori-team: 20 GP, 10 HR, .398 AVG., 64 RBI, 3 AST, 27 DP, 0 PSYCHE, 2 DUMB okay, fine. i'll admit it. billy is never going to have the player of the year season i've been talking about for six seasons. but in spite of that, he's still one of the most solid, if unspectacular, players in the game, and commands the respect of opponents every time he steps on the court. this is billy's fifth appearance on an all-americna team, and he's twice been a first-teamer ('02, '04) Jon Biddle, cashdollar & associates: 19 GP, 2 HR, 529 AVG., 47 RBI, 5 AST, 62 DP, 1 PSYCHE, 6 DUMB biddle's somewhat dissapointing fourth season was still more than enough to make it four straight as an all-american, tho jon would certainly prefer to see his name under first-team as it's been for the past two years. the 2-time defending double play champ just never seemed to get interested in '06, and it certainly showed, as the legue's best defender wasn't even close in the category he's owned pretty much since the day he set foot in the sbl. on the flip side, bidd did shoot an impressive .529, well above his career average. Aryn Christman, team wet dream: 13 GP, 2 HR, .639 AVG., 61 RBI, 1 AST, 15 DP, 0 PSYCHE, 7 DUMB making her first appearance on the all-american squad, aryn also has the distinction of being the only female on this years team. though she played in only 13 games, christman was dominant offensively, with an averge second to only tomko while still ringing up nearly 4.7 rbi/game. defensively, aryn was more than willing to bang around with the boys underneath, and put up 15 double plays, good for second on her squad. HONORABLE MENTION: Katie Kelly, team wet dream; Jamie Moroco, live sex celebration, Rando Knight, bukkake tsunami, Mike Frakovich, the frankenbitches |
