PJ & THE LADIES  9
JUKEBOX HERO  11
after a terrific scrum pitting cassie "the assassin" pyle against danielle "short short shorts" hennon (won, probably by luck, by danielle) the two awesomest squads in the sbl butted heads for the third and final time in the 2004 season with the ladies holding a 2-0 series lead.
this stacked jukebox team, featuring 3 fomer all-stars in shelly goodpastor, jamie moroco and jon olsavsky, fell behind early thanks to pj nespor's solo job in the first.  they quickly responded with a run of their own when goodpastor drove in her double bluffs teammate hennon before a lenny crist psyche-out led to a nespor double play to finish off the inning.
the lenny crist psyche-out bonanza continued into the 3rd, but with 2 outs, the heroes went on a 5-run spurt highlighted by olsavsky's 2-run jack.  the ladies were unfazed, and answered with a 4-run inning of their own featuring a pair of run-scoring triples by nespor.
in the 4th, jukebox produced an nearly identical inning to their 5-run 4th, and olsavsky's second two-run homer finished off another 5-pack of scores.
down 11-5, the ladies were able to mount a comeback over the next 3 innings as nespor bagged another solo shot and sean hood, recently acquired from xdeathx, drove in 2 in the 6th.
time ran out for the ladies, however, and the rally came up 2 runs short as the ladies just couldn't keep up with the jukebox bench of ben elliott and j.betts.
for jukebox, jamie moroco hit 4 of 5 and drove in 3, olsavsky hit 3 of 5 with a pair of homers and 4 rbi, and shelly goodpastor hit half of her 8 shots and drove in 4.
for the ladies, nespor hit 5 of 10 and drove in 3 and cassie pyle batted a staggering .500.

HOOSIER DADDY  7
PJ & THE LADIES   6
for the second straight game, the ladies lost a heartbreaker theat they really needed to make a postseason push, this time to the young-gun squad known as hoosier daddy.
this game wasn't very exciting, and i'm getitng sick of typing, so we'll skip to the stats:
- mikey chang, h.daddy:  6 for 11, 2 rbi, 3 psyche-outs, 2 double plays
- brandon mckendry: 2 homers, 4 rbi
- phil nespor: 5 for 8
- lenny crist: 3 for 9, 2 homers, 4 rbi
all in all, it was a game that pj & the ladies should have won, but didn't. story of their lives.
