HOOSIER DADDY 6 JUKEBOX HERO 10 looking to avoid a 3-game losing streak, this was not the jukebox hero team hoosier daddy wanted to see. comprised of a former player of the year in jon olsavsky, 2 all-stars in jamie moroco and pj nespor and 2 rookie of the year candidates in todd miller and aryn christman, the jukebox hero squad closer resembled the damn yankees than danielle hennons pride and joy. hoosier daddy coutered, however, enlisting the services of former lunchbox hero amber hoover and home-court hero dave mcclelland. bad move for h.daddy, as their two-pickups went a combined 5 for 17. dennis lackey and mikey "chang" moroco got the game off on the right foot, tossing in a triple and single, respectively, to take a 2-0 lead after one. it should be noted that, throughout the game, lackey and moroco either scored or drove in every single hoosier run. the jukebox heroes finally gelled in the third, when a jon olsasky two-out assist sparked a small 2-run surge. it carried into the 4th as moroco hit a triple to help bring across some of jukebox's 4 runs that inning. while the two-man hoosier daddys show did their best to put runs on the board, it wasn't enough to keep up with the awesome firepower the heroes threw at them once nespor entered the fray in the 7th. olsavsky led the way for jukebox (3-8) with a 5 for 11, 3 double play line. moroco added 6 hits and 5 runs batted in while miller and christman evenly divided 10 hits. for the daddy's, chang drilled 5 hits and drove in 3. lackey coerced 2 psyche-outs. PJ & THE LADIES 0 XDEATHX/WSAC 12 (7 INNINGS) pj & the ladies, not surprisingly, became the first team in sbl history to be shut out in consecutive games. for xdeathx, who shouldn't have wasted such a good game on such a bad team, billy picciotto drove in 7 and hit two longballs on 4 of 9 shooting. kip corbett collected 6 hits, and jon biddle did the usual with 7 double plays in 7 innings. we'll just leave it at that. SHORT BUS ALL-STARS 6 THE SERBIAN JEW DOUBLE BLUFFS 15 looking to make it 9 in a row, the bluffs came out like a team possessed, hitting 9 of their first ten shots in the home half of the first to take a commanding 9-0 lead before a bill weisberg double play cooled them off. in that train wreck of a first, the all-stars allowed two-run homers by matt mcclelland and nate tomko and shelly goodpastor to drill all 3 doubles while jon olsavsky knocked in both of his single attempts. things didn't look any better in the second as short bus went down one, two, three, then gave up another 6 to the high octane offense of the violet warriors. with a 15-run cushion, the bluffs went to their oversized, undersexed bench to put the game away, and they did just that. while not scoring again from the third on, the bluffs didn't need to as shot bus could muster only 6 runs, all of which coming after the game had been decided. for the all-stars, todd miller hit 7 in 10 attempts and bill weisberg turned 3 double plays. for the bluffs, mcclelland hit 8 of 9 shots with a homer and a pair of runs batted in. goodpastor knocked in 3 on 5 of 7 hitting, and tomko drove in 7 on 5 hits with a homer, an assist, and 3 double plays. the bluffs have swept the season series with the all-stars, 3-0.
