PJ & THE LADIES  14
DONKEY PUNCH  11
11-5, pj & the ladies down, top of the seventh.  we all know where this is going.  pretty soon pj will have both his beat-ass saucony's off, rando will be ripping off someone's shirt, and the penalty box will look more like sharon corbett's bed, bodies packed in like sardines.
but no, these ladies have something no ladies before them have.  restraint....and dare i say, desire to win?
things looking bleak, the ladies was again kept their composure, and this time it paid off big.  pj nespor, hitless in two games earlier in the day, finally found his shot, hitting 5 of his final 7 shots.  big rando, in a hangover-induced funk all day, one which included two airballs and a countless number of shots that were so bad they couldn't be counted airballs because they bounced off things thirty feet from the hoop, came alive with two huge center homeruns.  and young greg "no name" lackey showed he's not just the younger brother of dennis and pat, but he's also pat's daddy, coming up huge in the final 3 innings against his oldest sibling to help earn the ladies their first win of the young campaign.
the ladies big inning came in the 7th.  a pj nespor single got things going, then nespor tipped in a knight triple miss to score himself.  three consecutive doubles had tied the game at 9, then the ladies took the lead a few batters later when big rando nailed a gigantic 3-run homer.
the ladies went back to playing small ball, and padded their lead in the final two innings one run at a time, and in the meantimes turned up the defense by tipping in double plays in each of the final 3 frames and held donkey punch (4-2) scorelss from the 7th on.    in a losing effort, pat lackey hit 7 of 10 with a homer and 5 rbi.   kurt rodemoyer tipped in 2 dp's and an assist.
for the ladies (1-6), greg lackey and knight both hit in 7 of 15 at-bats.  rando added 8 rbi and a pair of homers to go with his trio of double plays.

XDEATHX             10
JUKEBOX HERO  1
looking to both break out of a two game losing streak and avenge their loss to jukebox one week prior, xdeathX did so in tremendous fashion, shutting down a fairly solid hero lineup and finally finding their stroke offensively.
jon biddle tied an sbl record with 8 double plays, and in the final half inning, jukebox mearely tossed the ball at the ground in front of themselves to prevent being on the receiving end of an embarassing sbl record.  biddle's defense nonwithstanding, the heroes did themselves no favors, collecting only two hits all game- a leadoff double by aryn christman and a solo homer in the second by jon olsavsky.
X had thier biggest inning in the 7th.  clinging to a 4-1 lead and winning mainly because of biddle's d, they broke out of their slump by hitting 6 out of 7 shots, including 2-run homers by billy picciotto and dank elly.
kip corbett was the offensive star for his squad, hitting 7 of 9 with a homer and 5 rbi.  picciotto added 5 hits and knocked in 3.
jukebox hero fell to 1-5 while xdeathx stands at 4-2.
