MILESTONES TO WATCH FOR IN 2007 |
ALL-TIME DUMB THINGS career leaders: 34- rando knight 32- mike moroco 29- bryan frankovich 26- jon biddle 20- lee nespor potential milestone: 50 with the buzzing of rumors about a possible pj & the ladies reformation, i don't think anyone would be that suprised if rando knight got 16 dumb things this year to top 50. and with the way mike moroco was rainbowing homers last year, it's quite possible he could airball his way to a half-century. potential milestone: 25 lee nespor is going to be hard pressed to avoid the 5 dumb things he'll need to hit this historic mark in '07. honestly, i can't see anyone else making a run at 25, as most of those hovering in the area are either retired or average well below what they'll need to hit that mark. okay, maybe ben smith (16) can do it. potential milestone: 10 as with psyche-outs, even a rookie could have a 10+ dumb thing year and crack this number. however, the most likely candidiates to reach double figures in 2007 are jamie moroco, greg lackey, jeremy battyani and aryn christman (9 each) as well as pj nespor and terry shernisky (8 apiece). |
ALL-TIME ASSISTS current leaders: 62- nate tomko 22- billy weisberg 16- bryan frankovich 14- jared clayton 12- jon biddle 12- rando knight potential milestone: 75 assists are much harder to come by in the current sbl thanks to tougher defenses, but tomko needs 13, slightly above his career average, to reach 75 this year potential milestone: 25 weisberg needs only 3, and he got that last year while putting up a career low. he should be only the second player to reach that mark. don't count out frankovich or biddle, though. both are tall and physical enough inside to get the 9 and 13 they need, respectively. watch biddle closely, as he likes hitting the doubles that put him right under the boards. potential milestone: 10 ten assists in the sbl in nothing to scoff at, as only the six players topping this list have reached double figures. expect that to change this year, as matt mcclelland needs only one tip-in to become number seven. jon olsavsky and terry shernisky both currently sit at 8. realistically, nobody else has a chance at 10 this year. did you know?: only 42 of the 132 players who have suited up in the sbl have actually tipped in an assist |
ALL-TIME PSYCHE-OUTS current leaders: 31- lenny crist 29- dennis lackey 26- jon olsavsky 25- nate tomko 15- jason betts potential milestone: 50 call me crazy, but i think lenny crist or dennis lackey could come out this year and set an sbl single season record for psyche-outs and make a run at 50. sure, it's a longshot, but i like to dream. potential milestone: 25 lee nespor (11) and mike moroco (10) both have the sense of humor and drive to put up huge psyche out numbers and hit the magic 25 mark, but doing so would require both putting up a total that would supercede their career numbers to date. potential milestone: 10 matt mcclelland is, currently with 8 po's, is on pace to get 10 this year, and i wouldn't be shocked if jon biddle (6) also reached that mark. i don't think anyone expects jason biddle (8) to show up more than once this summer, but he can definately get a pair of psyche-outs in one weekend. other than the few i've names, anyone in the league can put up an extremely funny year and get 10. |
