12-PACK OF QUESTIONS for BEN ELLIOTT 1) so after years of playing for some of the leagues biggest "me-first" captains, how does it feel to finally be your own boss? well i know its going to be rough, and i know that as a rookie captain i am going to get the most criticism, i am ready for this. I am also prepared to sit the bench and watch my team play, i am not the type of guy to start the same lineup everygame, i want all my players to play.. I have a solidly stacked team and i entrust them to do well. 2) you have one of the most impressive rosters in the sbl this season. what can we expect your lineup to look like on opening day, assuming everyone shows up? Lead Off Batter - E. Farrell - she is a solid all around player and i want to start the season on the right foot, right from the first shot Second Batter - Jon Olshavsky - Again, another solid legendary player all around, at this point he can hit close or hit far away and still make baskets. Third - Billy Piccotto - A former teammate of mine that is looking to have another breakout season Clean Up - Myself (at least for the first game)- I am totally confident in my game, enough so to start myself over the others on my team 3) what would you consider a bigger accomplishment for yourself this baseketball season: earning an all-star spot, winning the scrum tournament, or beating the fupalooters (and captain jon biddle) every single time you play them? I would have to say that I would like to see all the above happening, however the truth of the matter is that I am not a good scrummer (no championship), Biddle and McKendry are two hell of athletes (although i dont know how far 2 people can carry a team)... so that leaves the all-star season.... this is the hardest for me personally to overcome the tarnished image the SBL holds of me... its my year, and i hope to achieve this one goal 4) looking back on your previous teams, who was your favorite person to play alongside? who was your least? Favorite - damn this is a hard one, I am going to go with Matt McClelland, he is a great perforner and a great guy, In his rookie season Rambo showed the leauge that he was here for business... and more importantly, he was a leader. Least Favorite- this one is even harder, i dont really have a definite answer for this one.. .but i am going to have to go with sean hood. i like him as a person but as a teammate, hes not the best i could hope for, i mean we did do well along side each other on rare occasion, but he lacks the charisma and heart of a true SBL legend 5) if you could add anyone in the sbl to your team, who would it be and why? Ben Smith, seems to me that he and i played together on a team once and were awesome, i think it was jsut a pickup game, but i like him as a player.. Close second - Billy Weisberg (Fall Klassic Teammate) 6) so your play at the sbl fall classic was impressive to say the least. so what the hell happened to you there? I guess i was just out to show something.. It is a shame that only those truly loyal to the SBL were there to see it, but something just came over me.. i think it was me overcoming both the emotional (hair v. hair) and the physical (knee injury) damage i suffered at that very arena. it was also my way of showing former capt's what they were missing by benching me 7) what's your favorite sports movie ever? Aside from BASEketball.. i am going to go with Varsity Blues, you cant beat painkillers, booze, titties, and whip cream now can you? if you answer yes to that question, call me with details 8) rank the 2005 sbl teams in terms of overall sex appeal: 8. Brooklyn Bridges- sorry guys all you got is Ted's Sis 7.Weenises 6. Fupa Looters 5. Koopa Troopa 4. Jukebox - although danielle is very sexually appealing the other 4 wild cards may not be 3. Anal Is A Goodthing 2. Uncle Jed 1. PJ & L 9) if you were sbl president for a day, what would you do to change the league? I was going to say strict deadlines, however this is the integrated workings that allows the SBL to operate beautifully.. i would not change a thing, i like how it is now 10) if you could trade on-court abilities with any sbl superstar, who would it be and why? None other than Mr. Nate Tomko himself, if you question this, then ask yourself a question.........what part of the game does he not dominate? I mean, he can beat you on and off the court, hes got the scrum, the shot, the rebound, the psych-out.. truly a man of awe for all SBLers to look up to. I know that i have looked up to nate as both a skilled player and a leader since my freshman year CONTINUE PRESIDENT2005 |
