| SBL 2004 PLAYOFFS SUNDAY, AUG 1 & SUNDAY, AUG 8 THE K-Y COURT AT ASSBANG FIELDHOUSE & THE TUBBIETRONIC SUPERDROME 4 SEED) TEAM DONKEY PUNCH VS. 3 SEED) XDEATHX/WSAC (11-9) (xdeathx won season series 2-1) XDEATHX/WSAC 10 TEAM DONKEY PUNCH 15 clayton-led teams ran their playoff win streak to 7 with an impressive 5-run win over the third seeded smokers in a contest not nearly as close as the final score indicated. donkey punch jumped all over x in the bottom of the first with a barrage of homers form kurt rodemoyer. his two in the first inning alone drove in 4, and pat lackey added a run-scoring 2-bagger in the same frame to give punch a 5-0 lead they would never relinquish. xdeathx responded in the second with three of their own, but d.p. got them right back in the bottom of the inning. that was an ongoing theme for the rest of the game as every time x would draw close, the home-team donkey punch would score again to keep the lead at 5. rodemoyer finished with 3 homers and 7 rbi on 5 of 10 shooting and a trifecta of double plays. clayton hit a homer and drove in 4 while jamie moroco added 6 safeties and 3 rbi. featherhair lackey tipped in a pair of d.p.'s for d.p. without rookie of the year candidate billy picciotto, the smokers were missing the longball and were unable to produce quick runs as they have for the past few weeks. the ootlook for the game should change, however, as it is highly likely that picciotto will return in full force and clayton will be missing in action. porn star jon biddle hit 6 of 10 shots and drove in 3 to pace his squad. biddle also tipped in 5 double plays, and if anyone's still counting, he's got 101 in 2k4. both paul "flip wilson" corbett and dank elly hit 5 shots, with paul plating 4 runs. TEAM DONKEY PUNCH 7 XDEATHX/WSAC 14 xdeathx, behind it's usual outstanding defense and the outside shooting of billy picciotto, was able to even up it's semifinal series with donkey punch at one game apiece. picciotto hit 6 of 9 shots, half homers, half triples, and drove in 8 runs to spark the smoker offense. dank elly chipped in with a pair of homers and 5 rbi while jon biddle connected in 6 of his 9 at-bats. defensively, biddle tipped in 6 and kip corbett 3. playing without captain jared clayton, donkey punch actually led early in the game. kurt rodemoyer continued his stellar postseason play with a solo homer in the first, and a pat lackey 2-run shot capped a 3-run spurt in the top of the second to give d.p. a 4-0 lead heading into the bottom of that inning. the smokers would score 4 times, including 3 on a dank elly homer, to knot the score at 4 before taking the lead in the third and never looking back. in a losing effort, pat lackey hit 4 of 10 shots and drove in 3. rodemoyer tipped in 4 double plays. XDEATHX/WSAC 15 TEAM DONKEY PUNCH 5 despite jamie moroco's late-game offensive output and the defection of j. betts to their ranks, donkey punch couldn't overcome the play of xdeathx and officially blew a 1 game-0 lead to end their 2004 campaign. by the time moroco caught fire in the bottom of the 6th (perhaps aided by the arrival of her boyfriend/stallion jason betts who, unhappy with his lack of playing time, markered up his undershirt into the colors of donkey punch) to the tune of 2 homers and 2 triples in her final 4 at-bats, the game had already been decided. while the undermanned donkey punch team put up a good fight, they didn't have the muscle inside to combat the league's premiere inside team, giving 7 double plays and 3 assists which cemented their doom. x came out of the gate strong as rookie of the year frontrunner billy picciotto hit a 3-run jack to get things rolling. fellow r.o.t.y. candidate dank elly added a 2-run shot in the second to extend the black shirt lead to 5-0, and by the time punch crossed the plate for the first time in the 4th, the lead had grown to 7. for the first time all season, jon biddle took himself out of the game in the 7th and allowed picciotto some time under the glass. billy took the oppurtunity to tip in his first and second dp's of the season. and donkey punch took the oppurtunity to add some runs and make the final score a little less disgusting. biddle finished with 2 assists and 5 double plays and hit all but one of his 8 shots. elly hit 3 longballs and drove in 6 with an assist. in her final game under the iron fist of jared clayton, moroco nailed 5 of 9 shots with 4 rbi. featherhair lackey added three double plays while rodemoyer tipped in 2.
