this go around, sbl president nate tomko will be handling the keyboard: In you many glorious years in the sbl, I'm sure you've encountered any number of great players. Who, in your opinion, is the best you've ever crossed paths with? stinknuggets_822 via email jared clayton was the best-all around player i've ever seen in this league. he had the skills on both sides of the ball, and although he seemed one-dimensional early in his career, he dropped the homer-or-bust rainfest once he realized it wasn't going to win him any championships. this isn't to take anything away from shelley goodpastor or jon biddle, who i would consider the best offensive and defensive players i've ever faced, respectively, but neither of them possess clayton's all-around game. i do feel that terry shernisky, should he stick around for another season or so, will leapfrog clayton. the similarities between the two on-court are astounding, but i think sherry is stronger in many of clayton weakness areas, namely personality and commitment to the league. Hall of Fame voting is just around the corner. Who do you forsee getting inducted this year? dump_bucket229 via email assuming that the sbl once again inducts 2 players, i think it would be hard for the sbl to ignore shelley goodpastor and pj nespor. goodpastor's credentials speak for themselves; she's one of the best ever. if she doesn't go, it's a travesty. nespor, on the other hand, is the founding father of pj & the ladies, and that alone should be enough to get him in. but he did play a bit of baseketball over the years, too, putting up some decent numbers in his career. the combination of the two will most likely get him into the second spot. who i would vote for would look a little differently. to me, big rando knight has been just as instrumental as nespor in the rise of the ladies over the last 5 seasons, but has been better on the court, so i'd put him in. What is the SBL looking to do this coming year in terms of organizing teams. Rumors are flying- no draft, no captains... what's the dilly? d_mattingly via email it's true that a number of possible scenarios are being kicked around as far as the picking of teams this year. both of the above are currently being considered. because of the drafting of so many new players last season- most of which didn't really improve the enjoyment level of the league- we here at sblHQ aren't jumping at the notion of allowing captains to pick their own teams (and therefore, useless friends) again. if we were to use the same system we have for the past few years, expect restrictions left and right, namely the inability to pick up anyone that hasn't already played in the SBL. should we decide to take it further, there's talk of just having the teams drawn up by the sbl board, which would almost certainly be the best way make evenly matched teams while preventing anyone who doesn't belong in this league from sneaking through the side hatch. or, we just throw all the names in a hat and yank 'em at random. that'd be fun. Who do you have tabbed as a darkhorse player of the year candidate in '06? Do I have a prayer? cowsbryan via instant message bryan, at this point, everyone has a prayer. some people have a better prayer than others, and i'm happy to tell you that you're on that list. obviously, the competition in the sbl is at an all-time high, but i wouldn't be shocked to see any of up to 15 players hoist the earnest in 2006. (besides you, i would also have to make terry shernisky, shelley goodpastor, jon biddle, former poty matt mcclelland, ben smith and myself the favorites) you have a lot going for you- you're young and getting better while most of the league's elite are getting old and worse. of course, you're gayer than tapdancing, so you have that working against you. want my advice? try to get on a team with players who play to your strengths instead of stacking your squad with what looks like the best team on paper. besides helping you put up monster numbers, you might finally win a championship. of course, what do i know. i've only won 3 left-eyes and a trio of poty awards. holla! Alright Nate, level with me. Who has the nicest ass in the sbl? And who am i most likely to ge tot touch my tra-la-la? gunther sweden finest ass in the sbl? jeff knight, hands down. i'm not trying to sound like a queer or nothing, but he has a tight, hard, round little backside. ask him, he'll tell you. but i suppose you're inquiring about female ass, which most likely will rule jeff out. obviously, i'm biased. danielle hennon has a gym-nastytastic pooper, but nobody wants to hear me say that, so we'll pretend i didn't. assuming i can't pick a guy and won't pick my girlfriend, i'm gonna throw erin hayden at you. she's got a nice booty, and she's not afraid to wear things to accentuate it. as a side note, neely meyers has the best tits. most likely to touch your tra-la-la? me or rando, and we'd probabaly do it with the back of our hand with quite a bit of force. |
