WEEK 7 summary of games played july 1, 2001 No Talent Ass Clowns - 12 (8 innings) NAACP - 1 week 7 of the sbl season began with the ass clowns gaining some revenge against their divisional foes with a 12-1 humbling of the naacp. it was only two weeks ago that the naacp put an 11-2 bitch-slapping on the ass clowns on their own home court. nate tomko led the way for the winners, hitting 5 of 11 for 7 rbi's. tomko hit two homers, one of which was a grand slam. also for the ass clowns, joel lepak hit 5 of 11 shots with an rbi and a homerun. defensively, tomko tipped in 4 double plays. for the naacp, jon olsavsky tipped in 4 double plays while driving in the lone run on 2 of 8 shooting. the ass clowns improved to 6-1 while the naacp fell to 5-3. No Talent Ass Clowns - 5 Purple Undependables - 3 the undependables gave the league-leading ass clowns quite a scare, but thanks to joel lepak's 3 rbi's on 5 of 11 shooting, the clowns were able to pull out the victory and climb to 7-1. tomko homered and drove in 2. in the field, the ass clown combined for 4 double plays, while the undependables tipped in 3. leading the way offensively for the undependables were josh wareham, who hit 6 of 11 shots, and terry wareham, who drove in the both runs on an 8th inning homer. the undependables sunk to 1-6. Bocce Heroes - 10 Purple Undependables - 3 the bocce heroes broke open a close game with 7 runs in the 7th inning and held on for the 10-3 victory. billy weisberg went 7 of 16 from the field with a homerun and 6 rbi's. ryan johnson drove in the other 4 runs on 7 of 16 shooting. weisbeg also converted a double play. for the losers, jeff meyers tipped in 2 double plays while batting 5 of 13 with an rbi and a homer. hamlet went 7 of 13 from the field while tipping in a dp. the bocce heroes improved to 3-3 while the undependables firmly maintained their position in the sbl's cellar at 1-7. No Talent Ass Clowns - 9 Bocce Heroes - 7 the ass clowns improved their season mark to 8-1 by slipping past the bocce heroes, 9-7. the ass clowns completed their season sweep of the heroes, 3 games to none. nate tomko drove in 6 runs for the victors on 6 of 11 shooting and 2 homers. alberta hood also hit 6 of 11 while driving in the other 3 runs. joel lepak looked good, but played like shit. for the bocce heroes, bill weisberg went 8 of 16 for 5 rbi's and a homer. ryan johnson knocked in two runs on 5 of 16 shooting. defensively, tomko and weisberg evenly split 10 double plays. the loss pushed the heroes back to 3-4. PJ & The Ladies - 12 (10 innings) NAACP - 11 playing without one of his ladies, pj nespor picked up the slack left by lenny crist's hook-cocked move, and turned in the game of his baseketball carrer to shock the naacp in extra innings. nespor went 10 of 21 from the field with 6 rbi's and a homerun. the other lady, rando knight, was not to be outdone, hitting a grand slam, a solo homer, and driving in 6 runs while puting in one double play. for the naacp, captain jon olsavsky drove in 8 of his team's 11 runs on 8 of 15 shooting and one homer. in the field, olsavsky tipped in a big double play to force the extra innings. pj and the ladies improved to 3-4 while the naacp dropped their second outing of the day and fell to 5-4. PJ & The Ladies - 9 Bocce Heroes - 7 pj and the ladies (4-4) won their third straight and, in the process, took over first place in the sbl's western division and third place overall. rando and pj kept their hands hot, nespor making 7 of his 19 attempts and knight hitting 6 of 19. nespor het a homer and drove in 3 while knight drove in 6. in the field, pj and the lady combined for 6 double plays. for the bocce heroes (3-5), billy weisberg went 9 of 18 with 4 rbis. ryan johnson went 6 of 18 with 3 runs batted in. both heroes hit solo homers. in the field, weisberg tipped in 3 double plays.
