TEAM DOUBLE STUFF  3
PJ & THE LADIES         24 (6 INNINGS)
jared clayton assisted billy weisberg's double grand slam, the first time in sbl history one has been converted, with two gone in the bottom of the sixth to cross the last 8 pj&l runs of the game and put the finishing touches on a total domination win for the hammer and sickle.
double stuff, who are in a tailspin after sitting at 6-5 only a few weeks ago, managed only 3 runs on 6 hits, plus got psyched out 5 times.  hard to win that way.  especially when the other squad combines for 20 hits and 6 double plays in only 6 innings.
i'd like to write more about this game, but i really don't have much to say.  it was just a good ol; fashioned mollywhoppin'.
billy weisberg paced the winners with a 6 for 12, 12 rbi, 2 double play outing.  rando knight added 6 hits and 9 rbi with a homer, 2 double plays, and an amazing 4 psyche outs.  clayton hit on 8 of 11, drove in 3, and collected 2 double plays and 2 assists.
jamie fabian hit on 2 of 6 shots with a homerun and 2 rbi, as well as 2 double plays for the losing cause.
the win vaults the ladies to 6-10 on the year and into second place in the sbl's american conference.  double stuff also sits at 6-10, but are now in last place in the non-jukebox sbl.

THE NAPPY HEADED HOS  17
JUKEBOX HERO                     6
a game after putting up 23 runs to decimate the screamin' seagulls, jukebox hero managed only 6 in this one to end up on the other end of an asskickin' at the hands of the hos.
with a siminlair lineup to the one that had pwned in their last contest featuring jeremy battyani, tony mastrian, bob spohn, jordana beh, jared clayton and danielle hennon, jukebox was looking to get into a 4-way tie for last in the sbl with a win.  lighting would not strike buttsex ballpark twice, however, as the hos would rebound nicley from their first loss in three weeks to halt the upset bid.
the n.h.h. got 5 runs in the third inning after scoreless first and second stanzas to get the early lead.  then, a jamie moroco double would clear the bases in the fourth to plate two and cap a 3-run inning en route to an 8-zip hos lead, whcih would be plenty to win this one.
in spite of the constant pacing of mastrian and the psyhe-out mastery of jordana, jukebox would never get back into this one, watching helpessly as the hos dropped in shot after shot after shot.
with their last at-bats and down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth, jukebox checked in terry shernisky for a triple grand slam attempt.  obviously not having watched anything that was going on with deep shots up to that point, jukebox stood idely by whule shernisky tossed the ball up to himself three times before finally hoisting up his attempt from somewhere in front of the first grand slam stripe.  but after all that, it missed, and jukebox was finished.
jamie moroco hit on 9 of 12 shots from the leadoff hole, driving in 5 runs.  matt mcclelland added 8 hits and 6 rbi, as well as a trio of double plays.
for the losers, tony mastrian dropped in 4 of 7 with an rbi and 2 double plays.  clayton hit on 2 of 5 with a homer, 3 rbi and a pair of double plays.
the best scrum ever preceded the game. if you weren't there, tough cookies.

HOT FUZZ                                               22
KATCHLEEN TURNER OVERDRIVE  15
despite falling behind early and in the being in the midst of a terrible stretch of games, hot fuzz found it deep within each other to pull out a big win to hold onto their top overall spot in the sbl.
after a scoreless inning for both squads, hot fuzz struck first in the top of the second, getting rbi hits from mike moroco and bryan frankovich.  but in the bottom of the second, terry shernisky's 2-run homer highlighted a 4-run frame to give the lime green tanks thier first, and only, lead of the game.
the third inning started on the right foot for hot fuzz, as mike frankovich got the ball rolling with a double.  eight hits later and culminating with a mikey moroco 3-run jack, hot fuzz had put 8 runs up on the board to build a 10-4 lead from which they would never look back.
over the final six innings, the teams pretty much traded runs back and forth... or better yet, hot fuzz and terry shernisky traded runs back and forth, but sadly for KTO, trading runs don't cut the mustard when you're down by 6.  and when sherry missed his second deep grand slam attempt of the day in the bottom of the ninth, KTO watched another chance at catching the fuzz slip through their fingertips.
bryan frankovich rebounded from a shitty first game with an 8 for 12, 8 rbi, 1 assist, 4 double play day to pave the way for the victors.  mike moroco added 6 hits in 13 chances, with a homer and 7 batted in.  mike frankovich led all batters with 9 hits.
shernisky led the sherniskies with 8 hits in 11 tries with 4 longballs and 11 rbi.  the rest of the team sucked offensively.
the win puts hot fuzz at 11-5.  the overdrive sits ties with the nappy headed hos and the wiggles at 10-6, but at fourth in the league based on tiebreakers.
