Less than 10 days until Opening Day! Are you excited? Can you even sleep? I know I can't! Since what you need is another 2007 preview, I will go through each of the ten weeks and pick out one game that stands out, a marquee matchup if you will. Hell, I'll even throw in some rationale free of charge. There may even be a some predictions! It's almost like this is a real column or something.
Week One: PJ & the Ladies vs. The Sparkling Wiggles
The rivalry is renewed! Facist Nate Tomko squares off against the Communist PJ & the Ladies for the first time since 2004. If you like hockey fights and male on male humping, you definately do not want to miss this one. I'm going to say Nate and Rando get each other thrown in the penalty box for the entire game and PJ & the Ladies somehow pulls the upset. On the undercard is the season's first Lackey (Dennis) vs. Lackey (Pat) matchup.

Week Two: The Sparkling Wiggles vs. Hot Fuzz
2006 Player of the Year finalists Nate Tomko and Bryan Frankovich do battle for the first time this year. Look for each man to carry his team and show the other why he should win the award. I'm going to say that the Sparkling Wiggles use their deep bench to overcome Hot Fuzz.

Week Three: Hot Fuzz vs. Nappy Headed Ho's
For all the talk between Ben Smith and Bryan Frankovich in the offseason, now the two can finally let their playing do the talking. You've probably seen the war of words surface on this column at various times. If that's not enough for you, rewind to last year's playoffs and the heartbreak B. Frank must have suffered to be elminated in that fashion. Something tells me that he will have a little something extra in this matchup, which should be enough for a Hot Fuzz victory. Hey, it's the regular season. Let's also not forget that this will be the first time in Pat Nespor's 2+ year career that he will face Ben Smith. Ooooh, and there is Mikey vs. Jamie Moroco for the first time this year too.

Week Four: Hot Fuzz vs. Kathleen Turner Overdrive
Could this be a finals preview? Two of the preseason favorites go toe to toe for the first of at least three times in 2007. One cannot ignore that there is a little rivalry of sorts between Bryan Frankovich and Terry Shernisky. The two are looking to be recognized as the second best player in baseketball, and the best once Nate Tomko starts to decline. This is the third week in a row for Frankovich to have to face a rival (Tomko, Smith, Shernisky). I have him winning the first two, but I do not think he will sweep these three. Kathleen Turner Overdrive wins here.
Also see: Hot Fuzz vs. Nappy Headed Ho's, Round II (what a brutal stretch for the Fuzz and I don't think Ben Smith plans on losing two in a row to Frankovich)
Week Five: Screamin' Seagulls vs. Team Double Stuff
Two teams who haven't been given much respect face off in what could be a statement game. Lee Nespor's Seagulls are a pretty solid squad, but nobody buys that they are a contender without Shelley Goodpastor. Nobody knows for sure where Shelley is. She could be teaching baseketball to a third world country for all I know. Team Double Stuff is also not a bad team, but they just don't seem to have the offensive firepower that other teams have. Screamin' Seagulls win here as Terry Hall should continue to have a quietly stellar season (if he shows up).

Week Six: PJ & the Ladies vs. Nappy Headed Ho's
Here is an interesting matchup. The last time Ben Smith and Rando Knight faced each other was the exciting three game series for the 2005 champinoship. Then last year, these two nearly orchastrated something which would warrant the cancellation of the 2007 and probably 2008 seasons (Would there even be a need to play baseketball again had Bukkake Tsunami won?). The gardening tools/whores vanquish the ladies in this one.

Week Seven: Kathleen Turner Overdrive vs. The Sparkling Wiggles
Terry vs. Katie...Terry vs. Nate...(Pat) Lackey vs. (Greg) Lackey...Kip vs. the hot July sun...What's not to love here? A delightful matchup and another potential finals preview highlight SBL week 7. This one is a tough call and it should come right down to the wire. If I had to pick a winner, I'd have to go with the Wiggles, as Terry might not get any lovin' later that night if he bests his beau.

Week Eight: Screamin' Seagulls vs. PJ & the Ladies
A late-season chance for PJ and Lee to show which Nespor is best (assuming that Pat doesn't try to claim the Nespor throne). Also, I do recall at some point on the website, Lee saying that he would "beat the Jew out of Billy Weisberg". Now, whether Nate fabricated that statement for entertainment purposes or if that's a real threat is unknown. What I do know is that racial slurs are wrong. I'm certainly glad that we don't use them normally on this website. I'm also happy that there has not once been a team name that is or in reference to a racial slur.... About the game, the dirty sexual acts win on the strength of a barrage of Lee Nespor homers.

Week Nine: Screamin' Seagulls vs. The Sparkling Wiggles
Ok, let's assume that Shelley shows up for this one. Just think of all the fun we could have here. Shelly vs. Katie scrum...Shelley vs. Danielle scrum...There's also a baseketball game to be played. I'm sure Shelley would love to show Katie and Danielle that neither are quite the player that she is, which is probably what would happen here. Otherwise, the Seagulls have no chance. I still think the Wiggles would win this one anyway, but in blowout fashion if Shelley remains where ever the hell she is now.

Week Ten: Hot Fuzz vs. Sparkling Wiggles
This could very well be between two conference champions and could decide who gains the number one overall seed and the automatic finals berth. This is huge because since the SBL has adpoted the current playoff format (three years ago), the team who earned the automatic berth has eventually hoisted the left-eye. If Bryan Frankovich wants to finally win something, he could take huge strides in this game. I'm going to be bold and say that Hot Fuzz comes away with the win in this game. Does he have enough to win in the postseason? We'll find out in three months.

That'll wrap it up for this week. Go get something nice for your mother.
