2002 SBL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS SUNDAY, AUG 11 ASS CLOWN OUTDOOR ARENA pink bandana girls 3 ratchet thunder studs 18 (7 innings) after being held in a scoreless tie thru the first inning, the studs put 6 runs in the board in the home half of the second to take an early 6-1 lead and take the wind out of the bandana girls' sails for the rest of the series. the studs continued to pour on the runs, driving in another 12 runs over the next 5 innings while holding the pbg to a crackalakalakanesque 3 scores. the game mercifully ended in the bottom half of the 7th on back-to-back-to-back doubles by tomko, tarkanick and moroco, which provided a 15 run cushion. for the winners, shelly goodpastor stroked 8 of her 10 shots and drove in 6. mark tarkanick hit on 7 of his 10 attempts and drove in 5, while both nate tomko and mikey moroco hit in 6 of their 10 at bats. moroco drove in 4, and tomko brought in three in addition to his 6 double plays. for the bandana girls, jared clayton hit solo homers in the 6th and 7th. pink bandana girls 3 ratchet thunder studs 14 the pbg looked to put their previous game behind them and get back in the series as the second game tipped off, but the studs crossed the plate 8 times in the bottom of the second on the strength of a mikey moroco homer to put the series to bed. jared clayton drove home fred shaffer in the top of the third to put the first bandana girl run on the board. the studs answered with 4 runs in the home half of 3 thanks to a big nate tomko 3-run blast. sean hood and jared clayton would add solo homeruns in the 8th and 5th, respectively, but that would be all the bandana girls could muster. mark tarkanick's triple in the 6th ended the scoring for the studs at 14, but it would be more than enough as the rts defense took over with tarkanick and tomko evenly dividing 8 double plays. tomko finished with 2 homers on 7 of 10 marksmanship and drove in 6. mikey moroco hit on 5 of 8 attempts with a homer and 5 rbi's. for the bandana girls, clayton turned a pair of double plays and drove in 2.
