2001 shenangahela baseketball league all-americans
First Team:

- Nate Tomko, No Talent Ass Clowns: on his way to the 2001 most valuable player award, tomko led the league in homers (31), runs batted in (90), and double plays (47), while finishing second in batting average (.525).  carrying his team to the sbl finals and the league's best record, tomko accounted for over 75% of the ass clown offense.  he was the leading vote-getter in the all-star balloting.
-
Terrance Wareham, Purple Undependables:  as the most unlikely of the mvp finalists and all-americans, hammy more than lived up to the hype that surrounded him before he even set foot on an sbl court.  paired with jeff meyers to provide one of the most devastasting 1-2 punches in the sbl, hammy had team highs of 11 homers and 38 runs batted in.  his 2 grand slams in one game is a feat that still stands in the record books into 2003.
- Rando Knight, PJ & the Ladies:  the physical leader of the ladies, big rando took little time getting into his sbl rythym.  sparked by a michelle iacino appearance in week 2, rando stormed through the sbl season with team highs in homers (12, #2 in sbl), runs batted in (37, #4 in sbl) and double plays (24, #5 in sbl), as well as being one of only 3 league players to attend every game.
- Jon Olsavsky, NAACP:  team captain of the squad originally dubbed "the conscientous objectors", olsavsky left little doubt that both he and his team were for real.  on his way to being crowned an sbl world champion, olsavsky drove in 40 runs and tipped in 41 double plays, both good for second in the league, and was named mvp of the 2001 all-star game and the 2001 playoffs.
-
Sean Hood, NAACP: while his numbers may not appear to be first-team calibur,  hood came through in the games that mattered most.  against the purple undependables and the ass clowns, with whom the naacp were battleing with all season, hood's batting average was .450, nearly .200 points ahead of his season average.  in addition, all but one of his homers came against those same two teams.  this, along with his perfect attendance record and sbl championship hardware, gets sean the nod over weisberg and meyers.

Second Team:

- Billy Weisberg, Bocce Heroes: despite playing on what was simply the most underskilled team in the league, weisberg managed to put up serious numbers.  he collected 32 each of runs batted in and double plays, both in the top 6 in the sbl.  billy also led his team in every statistical category, a remarkable feat considering teams often spent all of their energy defending only him.
- Jeff Meyers, Purple Undependables: jeff's tenacious take on the game, while often frowned upon by his fellow league members, was effective to say the least.  despite playing only half a season, jeff finished in the top 8 in double plays, runs batted in and batting average, and, along with terry wareham, turned the undependables from laughing stock to title contender.
- Joel Lepak, No Talent Ass Clowns: although he was traded hours before the deadline, lepak's value to the NTAC was immeasurable.  a solid compliment to tomko, joel hit 8 homers and drove in 30 while batting .405.  without him, tomko and the clowns fizzled out of the playoffs, further proving his worth.
- Jamie Moroco, NAACP: after breaking the gender barrier during the second week of the sbl season, jamie showed that she was not just a good female player, but rather a good player, period.  her startling .448 average was good for second in the league, and her 22 rbi good for 8th.  in addition, jamie etched herself into the sbl recordbooks as being the only female all-star and only female sbl champion.
- PJ Nespor, PJ & the Ladies:  if his stats alone aren't enough, pj should be placed on the 2001 all american team for being the man behind the creation of pj & the ladies, a name that would eventually become synonymous with the sbl.  fortunately, the debate should never come up, because his 14 rbi, .358 average and 8 double plays speak for themselves.
