Some of the questions were given freely, others were removed forcibly…what won’t be happening is any censoring or editing by Ben Smith. (...or so he thinks)

1) When are we getting a new edition of the power rankings?

Well, there have been several reasons I have been away for a spell. You can blame me working more, Ben Smith censoring my last column, or the fact that it’s really hard to remember the feel of the games without Nate’s lucid write ups. Either way, I’m back this week and you can expect another power ranking next week….even if the write ups aren’t done.

2) Who has been the best team in the league thus far and can they keep it up?

Without a doubt it has been the Hott Fuzz of Bryan Frankovich. Sure Bryan has finally become the clutch player that I thought he would eventually be (see the end of the HF/NHH game), but he also has a killer supporting cast. Mike Frankovich is a shoe-in for most improved if he continues his torrid shooting from the single line. Gavin St. John appears to be a shorter and more entertaining version of Pat O’Mahoney. Seth Salcedo, though he incurs my wrath for caring about winning more than fun, is also playing really really well. Can they keep it up? I certainly don’t see another powerhouse team that can hang with them right now.

3) What has been the biggest surprise of the season?

A positive surprise would be the way people stepped up this past week. I really think Nate gets run-down and agitated at all the work he puts in to the league. Seeing everyone step up in his absence was definitely a pleasant surprise. A negative surprise would be that Pat Nespor has seen a reduced role this season. Pat should be a start at this point in his career.

4) When are we going back to the sucka free sports complex?

I agree that that was definitely a fun week of baseketball. Bug Ben Smith about it and I’ll bet it happens.

5) What has happaned [sic] to Pat Lackey?

College buffets and the depression of being a Pirate’s fan can have such an effect.

6)  Do you think there is real heat between Greg Lackey and Terry Hall after the infamous fertilizer incident this past weekend?

It’s certainly possible. It really depends on how well Greg knows Terry. If Greg really doesn’t talk to Terry, I can see where he’d have a beef.

7) Why are my lifetime stats incorrect on the SBL web page?

Kip would probably be the one to talk to about that. Now that I look at it, mine are also messed up. I wouldn’t complain too much. The fact that he took the time to make it is good enough I’d say.

(if you think your stats are wrong tell me about it - Kip)

8) Why the number switch from 24 to 11?

Well, I only took number 24 a couple years ago as a tribute to my good friend John who died that spring. I planned to go back to 11 last year, but that creep batty-ani already claimed number 11. It’s good to be back in number 11.

9) What’s your favorite movie?

That is really a loaded question. I have favorites in several different genres…and they vary depending on what I’m in the mood to see. At the moment it is the Gene Wilder version of Willy Wonka. Gene Wilder playing the role of anyone insane is like me shooting a middle double…it just feels right. Oh, and kids are greedy and spoiled.

10) Does Hott Fuzz have a chance to go unbeaten this year?

I can’t see it happening. Sooner or later, Bryan is going to have one of those games where he remembers he doesn’t like taking big three-run homers with two outs. Mike Frankovich will also eventually have to step behind the single line. Even if they can avoid these things, they are always going to be one stacked jukebox team away from losing.
