SBL Week 3
Hoffa Centre/Katie Kelly's house
Queenie Mentrek 11 (10 innings)
Honest Abe's Truth Brigade 10
The Truth Brigade jumped out to a quick lead scoring 3 in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th taking a 6-1 lead. After the 6th the lead was 8-2, but if the 1st 2 weeks have taught us anything, Queenie Mentrek is a slow starting team that finishes strong. Mikey Moroco lead off the bottom of the 7th with a grand slam and Nate Tomko drained a 3 run homer in the next inning to tie the score up at 9. Both teams failed to score in the 9th, but Chris Errett broke the tie in the 10th with a solo homer. Queenie was not done however as Jeanne Mentrek lead of the bottom of the 10th with a single and Mikey nailed a walk off 2-run home run.
Mikey Moroco lead Queenie Mentrek with a 5/13 2hr 6rbi 6dp 1psyche out game.
Chris Errett went 5/9 with 3hr, 5rbi and 2dp for the losing Truth Brigade.

Walker added 3 more in the top of the 4th to take a 12-1 lead. The Ladies started a comeback, scoring 3 in the 4th and 5th innings while holding Walker scoreless over the next 2. Walker wasn't done however, adding on 6 in the top of the 7th. The Ladies came back with 5 in the bottom half leaving the score 18-12 in favor of Walker. The Ladies came into the bottom of the 9th down 21-12 and it proved to be to much.

PJ & The Ladies 19
Millivanilliseconds 2
Both teams started out slow but the Ladies came on strong in the end, not wanting to lose 3 straight to Offutt's Millivanilliseconds. The Ladies built up a 5-0 lead over the 1st 5 innings, but really broke the game open plating 7th in the top of the 6th. MVS scored 2 over the next couple of innings but the Ladies added 7 more in the top of the 9th.
All 3 Ladies turned in good performances. Big Rando was 10/17 with 5rbi and 5dp. Pj Nespor was 9/16 with 7rbi and Billy Weisberg went 8/17 with 7rbi 1dp and 1 assist.
For MVS, Katie Kelly went 5/7 with 1hr and 1rbi. The rest of the team had 1 hit.
Opie and The E Street Band 28 (5 innings)
Jukebox Hero 4
This game was just fucking ridiculous. The score was 27-1 after the 3rd inning. The game ended in 5. That's pretty much all I need to say.
Terry Shernisky continued his ridiculous season with a 10/13 7hr 14rbi 1 dp line. Matt Mcclelland also chipped in with 9 hits on 14 shots, with 1hr and 11 rbi.
Lenny Crist led Jukebox going 3/4 with 2hr and 2rbi.
Queenie Mentrek 16 (12 innings)
Millivanilliseconds 15
I believe this game may be the 1st game in SBL history to be played on 2 different courts on the same day. It's also surprisingly, the first game that was interrupted by a visit from the police and the first game in which a member of the SBL was issued a fine by the police.
Queenie Mentrek started off slow once again, allowing MVS to get out to a 6-0 lead halfway through the 4th. Like the always do when they get down, Queenie scored 5 in the bottom of the 4th to bring the lead down to 1. After scoring 3 in the 6th Queenie had brought the game to a tie. Both teams scored 2 over the next 2 innings and the crowd got to see some free baseketball for the second time this week. MVS came out swinging scoring 4 in the top of the 10th but Queenie tied it back up with 4 of their own. Neither team scored in the 11th, and then the cops showed up and we got kicked off the court. Katie Kelly offered up her court, so the whole SBL moved and the game continued. MVS scored 1 in the 12th but Queenie Mentrek scored 2 to take the game.
Nate Tomko went 8/18 with 3hr 7rbi and 5dp to lead Queenie to victory. Jeanne Mentrek also added 12 hits with 5rbi.
For the losers, Katie Kelly finished with a 10/12 1hr 5rbi line. Tim Martin also added 7 hits with 1hr 6rbi and 4dp.
Millivanilliseconds 11

The Truth Brigade opened up an early lead scoring 3 in the 1st and 2 more over the next 2 innings. MVS started their comback with scoring 1 in the 4th, 4 in the 5th and 5 in the 6th, all while keeping the Truth Brigade off the scoreboard til the 8th. After 7 the score was 11-5 in favor of MVS. The Truth Brigade scored 3 more, but it wasn't enough.
Lee Nespor lead the way for the victors going 5/9 with 4rbi. Tim Marting added 4 hits, 4rbi and 4dp.
Pj Oconner went 4/10 with 4hr and 6 rbi for the losers.
Opie and The E Street Band 19
Walker Told Me I Have AIDS 9
E Street started off the scoring in the top of the 4th, plating 4 runs but Walker came back with 5 runs in the bottom. E Street bounced back with 4 in the 5th and kept pouring it on with 6 in the 8th and 4 more in the 9th, while Walker just couldn't keep up.
Terry Shernisky once again stood out with an 8/15 7hr 13 rbi 4dp game. Mac also chipped in 9 hits and 2rbi.
For the losers, Terry Hall went 9/13 with 3rbi and 2dp.
PJ & The Ladies 12
Jukebox Hero 6
The Ladies looked to pull above .500 for the 1st time this season pulling out to a 7-4 lead after 3. The Ladies scored 5 more over the next 4 innings and that proved to be enough to hold off a competitive Jukebox team.
Rando led the way for the Ladies with a 9/16 1hr 6rbi 2dp line. Billy Weisberg added 7 hits with 5 rbi 3 dp and 1 assist. Pj Nespor added 6 hits and 2 psyche outs.
