SBL PLAYER OF THE YEAR FINALISTS JON BIDDLE, XDEATHX/WSAC in leading his smokers to a second-place finish in the sbl regular season, biddle shattered the record for double plays with 96 (only a last-game hose job that ended the contest in the 3rd prevented him from reaching 100). in addition to his tremendous defensive numbers, jon hit 4 homers, drove in 40, batted .457, tipped in 3 assists and psyched out 5. NATE TOMKO, THE SERBIAN JEW DOUBLE BLUFFS though he missed the first week of the season and often played only half-games, tomko still set new sbl standards for runs batted in (122) and homers (40) while leading the sbl in batteing (.707) and assists (13). the bluff also tipped in 58 double plays, good for second in the league. MATT MCCLELLAND, THE SERBIAN JEW DOUBLE BLUFFS the captain of the best team in sbl history, mcclelland should and will get the credit for pulling off huge deals and making incredible picks before the season even started. and once it did, he only cemented his ranking as one of the league's best. his .651 batting average was third in the league, and mac also collected 41 runs batted in batting behind rbi black hole tomko and tipped in 15 double plays playing alongside the two top double play-getters in league annals. SHELLY GOODPASTOR, THE SERBIAN JEW DOUBLE BLUFFS finishing second in the sbl in both average (.676) and runs batted in (73), shelly also garnered single game record for homers (8) and runs batted in (19) while also hitting a perfect game. her feats are even more impressive considering she accomplished them from the leadoff position. one might even argue tomko and mcclelland wouldn't be on this list had it not been for the stellar offensive play of goodpastor. BRYAN FRANKOVICH, HOOSIER DADDY the brightest star on the league's youngest team, frankovich was the most consistent player in hoosier daddy's phenomenal regular season run. setting career highs for average (.568), rbi (72), homers (17), double plays (32) and assists (6), bryan finished no lower than 7th in any of those offensive categories. ROOKIE OF THE YEAR FINALISTS DANK ELLY, XDEATHX/WSAC only sbl rookie to play all 20 games. .412 average, 17 homers, 48 rbi, 1 assist and 10 double plays all in top 6 among rookies. BRANDON MCKENDRY, HOOSIER DADDY led all first-year players with 26 homers (2nd in sbl), 16 double plays and 68 rbi. also hit for .404. BEN SMITH, THE SERBIAN JEW DOUBLE BLUFFS late-season surge helped the bluffs finish strong without p.o.y. finalist goodpastor. hit 13 homers in week 9 and finished among the top 5 rookies in homers, average, rbi and assists. KATIE KELLY, THE SERBIAN JEW DOUBLE BLUFFS often coming off the bench for the bluffs, kelly hit for .558, tops among rooks, and drove in 18, often from the leadoff slot. BILLY PICCIOTTO, XDEATHX/WSAC 23 homers and 62 rbi were good for second in sbl among rookies while .488 average had him in the top three. was also one of only 2 freshman to register an assist.
