| PLAYOFFS, ROUND 1 JULY 27, 2003 AUSCHWITZ GARDENS WEENISES STRIKE BACK/VICE CITY MIRACLES game 1: VICE CITY 13 WEENISES 14 billy weisberg's 2-out, 3-run homer in the bottom of the ninth put the finishing touches on the weenises comeback from 6 runs down in the final two innings and put them ahead in the best of 3 series one game to none. after the miracles domingated the first seven and a half innings, holding the underdog weenises to 8 hits, the weenises broke out of their slump in the home portion of the 8th, nailing 3 consecutive doubles from dennis lackey, mikey moroco and brian frankovich followed by a triple from weisberg. after a jon biddle double play seemed to stifle the rally, mikey moroco swished thru a 2-run homer to pull the weenises within one. in the top of the ninth, biddle scored mcclelland on a two-out double, extending the miracle lead to two and setting up weisberg's late-game heroics. bill "jewish thunder" weisberg finished the game with 5 rbi and that one huge homer on 6 for 10 shooting and three double plays to pace the victors. moroco added 6 rbi's and a double play. for vice city, jon biddle was high man with 9 hits, while he and ted gilliland each contributed 5 rbi. all three miracles tipped in a pair of double plays defensively. game 2: WEENISES 15 VICE CITY 12 the roles reversed in game 2, with the weenises staking claim to an early lead and the miracles roaring back near the end. after trailing by as many as 8, the miracles began chipping away with 3 runs each in the 4th and 5th, eventuallly pulling to within one in the bottom of the eight. the outcome, however, was one thing that did not change as the weenises were able to hold on for the three-run win, sweeping the miracles from the postseason. billy weisberg continued his impressive play, lighting up the miracles for 8 hits in 11 at-bats and 4 rbi. mikey moroco aided his team's cause with 6 runs batted in and a homer while notching his second double play in as many games. for the losers, jon biddle banged hnome 8 hits in 15 attempts for 4 rbi. teddy jam added a homer and 5 rbi.
