PJ & THE LADIES/TRANSEXUAL HEARTBREAKERS

game 1:
HEARTBREAKERS  15
PJ & THE LADIES    13
led by the deadly mid-range shooting of elysa farrell, the fourth seeded heartbreakers were able to grab an early one-game to none lead over the much more experienced ladies of coach rando knight.
heading into the game as the higher seed but considered underdogs by many baseketball insiders, jared clayton's team proved they belonged in the playoffs with a hard fought 2 run win.    with farrell and kurt "kunit" rodemoyer setting the table and clayton doing the dishes, the heartbreakers found their groove late in the game, scoring 6 runs in the 7th and 6 runs in the top of the ninth.
the ladies mounted a noble bottom of the ninth offensive, scoring three runs on 2 outs, but left the bases loaded on a joel lepak dumb thing.  lepak did, hower suprisingly, lead his team with 8 hits and 5 rbi, while jon olsavsky added 2 homers and 5 runs batted in.  rando knight was the defensive prescence for his squad, tipping in 3 double plays.
for the heartbreakers, farrell ended the game with 9 hits in 14 at bats, but only 2 rbi to show for it.  jared clayton got the statistical glory, bringing in 11.  clayton, as always, was a machine inside, tapping home 5 lady misses.

game 2:
PJ & THE LADIES     6
HEARTBREAKERS  28
while everyone expected pj & co. to fold after dropping the first game of the series, no one quite expected it to be this ugly.  the heartbreakers couldn't miss, and the ladies couldn't hit as team transexual swept thier way into the second round in dynamic fashion.
j-money clay-dog rattled home 11 shots, good for an astounding 15 rbi, to pace his team.  an unexpected offensive outburst came from rodemoyer, who made a carrer high 10 shots, including 3 homers, and finished with 12 rbi.  farrell was her steady self, hitting 8 shots in 14 attempts.  clayton and rodemoyer each tallied a double play, while the former garnered an assist.
for the ladies, who were forced to play their second consecutive game without team lifeblood pj nespor, nobody could get anything going after a 3-run first which featured back to back homers by olsavsky and lepak.
pj & the ladies have now been swept from the playoffs in consecutive seasons.
the 22-run blowout is the most lopsided playoff outcome in sbl annals.
